Cribbs Wants To Remain in Cleveland

February 28, 2013   ·   5 Comments

It’s not often that an athlete that plays for a Cleveland sports team wants to remain in Cleveland instead of chasing the big bucks of free agency by going to a different city and team.

Josh Cribbs, who is quite possibly the most popular player to put a Browns uniform on since Bernie Kosar, not only wants to remain in Cleveland, he is willing (if needed of course) to take a PAY CUT.

This week, Cribbs was on 92.3 The Fan here in Cleveland and stated that he will take a paycut to stay, but “not huge paycuts”. He also stated he doesn’t get a good vibe from the team’s new front office about the team re-signing him, despite ranking 4th in the NFL on kickoff returns and 6th in the league on punt returns.

The three time Pro Bowl player hopes to return to the team and have a bigger role on the offensive side of the ball after only catching seven passes last season. Cribbs said “I want to be a Brown. I want to end my career here”

I hope that something does indeed get worked out to keep Cribbs in the brown and orange for the rest of his career. If the Browns let him go as expected, there have to be other reasons besides stats and money. Perhaps his complaining during the season last year about not getting the ball might have written his ticket out of the city he loves. Let’s hope that is not the case.
